Cammie's Story ~ Fun with Souls!

Well today started off with a personal achievement - finally beating the Plains Maha Ruknee challenge! I am now "very knowledgeable about the earth," on the road to Rangery goodness, so hopefully in about 60 more Goss lessons I'll be ready at last!

I like how grumpy the head looks. Like it's saying "hmmmph!" :D

I decided to tag along on the latest outing to Thaumaturge's Lair (still have no idea who Thaumaturge is or why he needs a lair, but dat's another story!) Anyways, in retrospect this might not have been such a good idea for some of us.

When an evil Mystic says he needs to test something while standing in a creepy pentagram thingy... RUN!

Tastes great, less filling.

This would have served the dual purpose of a cool trophy AND sewing Trowl's mouth shut! (I kid, I kid.)

I guess I'm evil now. Darn!

Grr arrg brains, etc... Zombie!Cammie terrifies the masses (until SC and Leinis take her down with two swings). ;p

Well apparently all the zombing and killing and re-zombing served a purpose to those who know about such things, so I'm glad I could help them get into the lair in this... interesting way! I'm not entirely sure where my soul ended up, but they always say it's in the last place you look...

Cammie's Story ~ Open Hunt Scrapbook, part two

Each week Daimoth hosts an Open Hunt to the Slate or Pitch Caves. I usually don't go due to ~~complete lack of skillz~~ very important pressing engagements *cough*, but I couldn't pass up a trip to the ever-mysterious-and-challenging Book Two!

I think it took longer to cross these webs in front of the book than it did to get to the book itself...

But at last we made it. I am not a pathfinder myself (I still get lost in town) but I was there to sketch and report the EPIC achievement!

Next, the Mystic Xel (who made the trip possible by teleporting us) wanted to study from a mysticy-type book hidden deep... somewhere! (okie, I'm a lil fuzzy on the details. 'swhy I'm not a Mystic!) Anyways, seemed the least we could do for the guy! So off we went to Places Unknown.

But... but... i iz smart! I IZ! *kicks the dumb book* There, that'll show ya!

This trip went off without a hitch and felt truly like an EPIC adventure. Tanks to Daimoth, Xel, all the healers and everyone who made this experience possible! Shame the timing coincided with the hubby's travels, as he had just finished Book One, but at least now we know it can be done!

There will never be anything funnier than someone popping an explodey bubble on Trowl. EVER. :D :D

Cammie's Story ~ Open Hunt Scrapbook, part one

Here are some memorable sketches I collected from recent Open hunts and MAP hunts. Enjoy!

Noth needs to hire better landscapers!

One of the worst massacres I've witnessed on the Open Hunt! Sadly we didn't get a giant Shoe of Bug Smushing from the gods, but we were eventually rescued. =)

The Surround and Tickle™ method works, we brought that Hatred down in 30 minutes, tops! :D

This week's Open Hunt went to Barrens, and tanks to Supa Mystic Salazar I was actually able to hit stuff for once!

Sadly, this was advice I was unable to follow.

The locals treat me to their unique brand of flirting, while Sala shows off a little-know mystic skill: walking through a pool of blood without getting any on your shoes. Nice!

I might miss my hubby while he's travelling, but I'm not that lonely yet!

Seen in town: this very disturbin image of a cat dancing with a dog. Talk about animal abuse!

Cammie's Story ~ Milestones, celebrations, and a family outing!

Well first I wanna congratulate my hubby BKC on passin 4th circle! Woo great job sweetie (though I wish I had been first *cough*)! Anyways, to celebrate I bought a cask of stout:

Don't let the sober sketch fool ya. As tribute to my hubby's proud Dwarven heritage, I assure you he got very drunk until he fell over! I just happened to be too tipsy to make a sketch at the time. :P

Then it was my turn to pass 4th! FINALLY, I might add. :P My favorite part was getting this snazzy new belt that matched the outfit I stole from my hubby, I mean, my new outfit. :D

Then more celebrations as BKC, myself and some friends founded our very own clan dedicated to mid-level adventuring, Safari!

It was a difficult decision to leave OWE, and I want to thank them for welcoming me into their clan. It was an honor. However, Safari seems like the ideal next chapter in my exile, and we have already grown quite a bit. Recruit Umzara shows true Safari spirit:

We had a quiet moment in the midst of all the celebrating, when we took our rapidly-growing Dwarfens on an outing to this serene spot on Gungla Island. Family vacation paradise!

Like her momma, our little Nea'mora loves splashing and playing in the water.

Phemurr, however, is definitely his daddy's son. Always lookin for trouble!

It's nice to take moments like this, to just relax and appreciate the love of family. They grow so fast and soon they'll be out adventuring on their own (though this Momma Fen is not quite ready to think about Phemurr wielding an axe... erp!)

Cammie's Story ~ DTN Sinkhole and Executioner Noids!

I'm goin a little out of order with my sketches here, but I bring you epic breaking news!!

Hearing reports from Melben and Salazar of suspicious noid activity outside DTN, a few brave exiles (me, another fighter, and two mystics - you can prolly guess how that turned out XD) went to check it out. We encountered a routine sampling of Noid invaders, until we started hearing a strange hissing coming from the DTN cavern. Of course this intrepid reporter ran in to die, I mean investigate.

But that was just the beginning! There were Pitch noids, Black Widows and then a series of earthquakes, culminating in a massive one that pulled trees from the ground and seriously endangered the home of local Zo, Natas!

Quick, someone call Extreme Makeover: Cave Edition!

Then these nasty yellow poison noids appeared. They were called Wood Arachnoids, but they should be called Nasty Yellow Poison Arachnoids in this reporter's humble opinion. (You can also see the scope of the earthquake damage here.)

But that wasn't the end yet! Apparently the Noids decided to take "Death Trap" literally and unleash armored executioners on us!

If I can't see them, they can't see me? ;)

Noids marching in formation. Not sure if they are plotting our demise or practicing for the next pep rally, but either way it was CREEPY! Our merry band of Noid squishers finally managed to defeat the Armored Arachnoids, but to the great disappointment of this reporter they were not chainable to make trophies. Come on, who wouldn't want one of these cuddly guys in their house, am I right??

The questions remain: How did the Noids fashion this armor and weaponry? Is this the beginning of a great War with the Noids? If so, will I ever get my trophy? Will DTN collapse into the ground, taking half of East forest with it? And does anyone have a couch Natas can sleep on?

Cammie's Story ~ Town raided by exiles!

We were innocently chillin in town one day when all of a sudden, slugapalooza! Well that's not so strange, but what happened next was!

I'm not sure what happened here, but I'm pretty sure it was Trowl's fault.

I am transformed into a mighty leech... I WAS mighty, dammit! MURPLE!

I'm still not sure if this was real or a bad 'nip trip, but it was kinda fun whatever it was. Ribbit!

Speaking of strange invasions...

Ever been walkin through town and get run over by a boat? Well, it's not nearly as much fun as it looks lemme tell ya!

Kora went one snell too far north. :D

Cammie's Story ~ Orga child care?!

Well first I gotta apologize for the long time no update, but being the momma of twin Dwarfens is just as exhausting (and wonderful) as it sounds!

Hunting right before the blessed event...

And after. :P Tanks to the healerers for not leavin my babies orphans!

And now, some random silliness =)

We were strollin through the foothills, when all of a sudden, SMUUUUSH! Suuuub got buried underneath a very large and angry rock!

After about an hour's worth of chippin (really, it was a lot of chippin!), we finally managed to set him free, hopefully none the worse for wear. Phew!

A KI Open Hunt reveals the Fen Messiah (take that, Fen President! :P)

The vermine platoon proceeded to take out our healers. Tricky Orga!!

Cammie's Story ~ Carnival, theater, and death!

The carnival came to town, and we had fun dressing as carnies. While it was nice being on the same level, I missed the beard soon enough. :D

Puddleby Players debuted their new (musical) masterpiece, the Wizard of Peaceton! Here everyone admires the new backdrops designed by Fen Pres Largo. Ooh ahh!

The story was very touching about a subject dear to my heart, an interracial romance! I laughed, I cried, I only winced a couple times at the singing. Bravo Puddleby Players!

Speaking of singing, I'm not sure my unique gift is appreciated...

Hmmmph!

This week's Open Hunt went to Metz. Fighting is becoming difficult with my ever-increasing belly, but I managed to have some fun. :D

First, I have some exciting news to announce: BKC and I have learned we are expecting twins! I am thrilled and... huge. :D

While I have temporarily lost some of my feline agility, I haven't lost my thirst for adventure. :)

Cammie's Story ~ TRAMP!

I hold TRAP entirely responsible for the following. :D

For our first official TRAMP hunt we decided to crash an Orga party!

Orgas really have no sense of humor. :(

I think we're called TRAMP because we spend most of the time on our backs. :P

At some point poor Stonehand got ported to the Orga Village. Maybe the Orgas were seeking fashion tips? At any rate, it was up to TRAMP (and a few hardy helpers) to save the dwarf! If we could find him...

Hmm, where are those sleeves again?

We rescued him, and no one had to rescue us. Victory! :D

Cammie's story ~ A really hot time!

We were ambling around MI when my favorite Fen healer asked if we'd like to go hunt Toks. Sounds hot! And with my hubby's sexy pf we were good to go!

The unfortunate result of my Mad Tag Party. I do think I managed to hit everything though! :D

We ran into trouble deep in, when we met up with some Shamans who had no arms and shot fire out of their backs... or somethin! Anyways, most of us fell and unfortunately our pf got left behind. Oops! After assuring him we were comin back, we waited around for another pf. I got some knitting done, and then Kisa showed up. Yay! Back into the fiery fray...

He solo'ed it. *nod*

I even managed to drag this really cool Lava Beetle trophy all the way out of the mine! There was a scary moment when I got double-rocked outside the keep, but beaten and bloody I heroically brought him to town. Go me! (His name, by the way, is Mr. Burns.)

Not having our day's fill of trouble yet, BKC and I headed off to the Savannah.

I got hypnotized by a pretty shiny thing and... ended up here. It wasn't my fault, I swear! It was so... shiny!

Cammie's story ~ Adventure and shiny things!

Before the Open Hunt this week, Fishylish organized a group to explore the gems in underground KI. Adventure and shiny things? Count me in!

We tried sacrificing an owl to the statue, but nothing happened. *giggle*

Whoever hid this gem really meant business! At least poor Leinis had a buddy. :P

We didn't learn anything about the gems, but it was still a fun adventure (particularly for those of us who'd never been there before)! Tanks to Fishylish for the initiative and sense of curiosity (which happily did not kill the cat)! :D

The Open Hunt was organized by Creed this week, and we ended up having a grand time at the Mountain Glen Trool Cave!

Festive, and deadly!

Between the Bongo trools and the Cash Register Trools, we had quite a funky band going on!

Some of us have unusual ideas of fun! ;)

Cammie's story ~ The natives are getting restless!

It all started with the rats...

who got killed by the cats...

who got killed by Greater Deaths (this kitty included)!

The sky is falling! The sky is falling! And it's... talking?!

Turned out there was a poor lil halfling flattened under the rock! We chipped him loose and he made a full recovery, but the mystery rock remains... a mystery!

Then came the noids...

Sorry lady, we seem to have more pressing issues!

We really should have taken Suuuby's advice...

I thought I was following a large group of exiles, but I ended up here all alone! Eventually I was rescued, but...

apparently I have some kind of aversion to being alive and well. We heard reports that town was under seige by Abyssal thingies while we lay fallen, and most of us departed. It was madness!

Cammie's Story ~ So that's why they call it Camp Dred!

This week's brave MAPpers decided to venture into Camp Dred. Despite the catchy-sounding name, we did not toast marshmallows or sing campfire songs. Instead, we died. A LOT. :D

Dredwood: kinda like the inside of my brain, but with more Orgas.

Erm... exiles 1, bush 0?

We were wandering through, merrily bashing stuff...

when we were suddenly struck by how Camp Dred got its name!

It's not a MAP hunt without a rank or two! Also, I'm taking bets on what Trowl has 4 of. Fingers? Toes? Thoughts? hmmm.

These Mystic gangs are a real menace. A sparkly menace, but a menace all the same!

Turns out it was both... :)

We asked for a BIG spawn, but this wasn't exactly what we had in mind...

No, it wasn't the 17 Mammoth Arachne that struck fear into PV's heart, it was the sentient Cave Cobra! Sheesh, aren't those things scary enough when they don't speak?!

I don't remember the exact context here ~ somethin about bat morphs ~ but 'tis true all the same!

Cammie's Story ~ Pallidews, Tok'hans and Haremaus, OH MY!

MAP returned to Dal'noth, where we were greeted by a not-so-welcoming party of 'dews!

I. don't. want. to. know.

After squishing all the 'dews before they could... reproduce further, we moved on to 'noths.

It would be cool if Janus could shoot lightning out of his eyes. Well, it would. :D

The OWE open hunt ventured to a place I'd never seen before, the Tok'han caverns beneath Melabrion's Keep.

I report for my boost so I can help kick some coily Tok tail. :D

Cramped space + lots of exiles + Cave Cobras resulted in chaos and snakebites. So we decided to move on to the wide open spaces of Metz!

Momma Haremau's revenge? yipes!

Here's a sketch of me laughing bravely in the face of danger! (Okay okay, I was probably distracted by a shiny rock or somethin'. Hmmmph!) Anyways, these are Twilight Wendies which I thought quite pretty! Hopefully next time we can trophyize one. :D I hadn't been to this area of Metz before, and it was really neat to see the sights. Sometimes fun happens right in our puddly little town. :)

I'm easily distracted by shiny things, and dancing furry pink things.

I wanna Smeester trophy sooooo bad!

I had an amusing encounter with Fen Pres Largo the other day. I was caught making a sketch of his and Raks' fabulous outfits, when he asked if I'd like it autographed. Sure, I said, why not?

While he was busily oozing charm everywheres...

"somebody" busted out the pink paint. :D (How does she fit all that paint in her pack anyways?) Well, it was very funny!

Sometimes town is so fun that Noids wanna crash the party...

Not to mention Greater Deaths!

See, Geotzou had to come rescue Andarius after he got trapped rescuing me after I came to rescue Lightfrost who had gone to rescue Shadowfire from KI Cove. Got it? Good. :D

Cammie's Story ~ Stompin' through the Pitch Caves

My Lyfe hubby tried to eat my poor squished guts. Luckily for all he was cured not long after this!

While we defeated the nasty noids with relative ease, the real trouble happened on the way out.

Our chainer Bulgatra fell and went through the portal after a very heroic run. After soaking up the ambience for a bit, we were eventually rescued and returned to town. Tanks all for another fun Open Hunt! I only wish we could have stopped by Book 1 so the hubby could train more sexy pf ;) but we lacked healing power. Hopefully we'll make it on the next trip!

Cammie's Story ~ A whole mess of hunts, part two!

Now with even more mess! :D

First up is this impromptu and rather unusual hunt to... I have no idea!

Our mission: escort the mystic At'n to a trainer, and get Suu'ub some shiny boots. Sounds fun!

First we had to get through these guards:

Yeah, that's pretty much my standard MO. :D

I got to meet the legendary Juliosaur:

RUN AWAY!!!

For some reason, opening up a box of boots is a really big deal! I got 12 ranks... for clothes shopping! :D (Well we had to defeat a few nasties to get em, but it was worth it!)

We were even able to bring home a sentry for our house. His name is Joe. :)

Cammie's Story ~ A whole mess of hunts, part one!

(And it's, y'know, me, so the word "mess" should probably be taken literally. :D)

Apparently the Wendies have been gettin' busy in the foothills lately!

Large Angry Midnight Wendeckas should really not take fertility drugs. Yipes!

Twice I ranked right after falling. Is somebody trying to tell me something??

Next, the Open Hunt returned to the Barrens. Golly, I can't imagine why they call it that!

The last group didn't seem to fare too well. Hopefully we can do better!

I didn't do it, I swear!

Somehow we made it alive into the rebel base. They didn't attack, which I guess means we had gained esteem? (I am still a little fuzz-brained on the whole esteem thing, but I'm generally pretty fuzzy anyways!) It was neat to see the inside of the base, but they could really use a good decorator! Or... a decorator.

Finally, a look at Gandor and BKC brightening up a Foothills hunt with their new colored helmets. Pricey, but worth it I say! Lookin good! =)

Cammie's Story ~ The return of the Newbielympics!

With the recent influx of new exiles (I guess Mobius woke up on the wrong side of the bed, eh?) my hubby and I decided to bring back an event we remembered fondly, the Newbielympics. With the go-ahead and some help from members of Winds of Dawn, the event's originators, we were off! Let the games begin!

The first experiment in newbie torture, I mean, event! was the east town footrace. I regret that I have no sketches of the actual races, but for this and many of the events I was at the finish line holding my Official Looking Clipboard™. So I apologize for the lack of live action reporting! It came down to a Thoomdown between Ackkbar and Hoshi, with Hoshi winning. A very exciting start!

Purrfect made a very impressive showing in this event, collecting scents of 54 critters.

We spent a lot of time hangin out with dead guys. :P

Pralkon placed 3rd in the haiku contest. I hope he didn't try to use his prizes at the same time! =)

The overall winner of the 'lympics was Trowl, who made a very impressive showing and won a very impressive prize!

Well I'm sorry I don't have more sketches of the events, but I was runnin around like a headless chicken most of the time! :P If anyone has else sketches, I can be reached at cammiecat@yahoo.com :)

Finally, the event organizers decided to blow off a little steam in creative ways!

There was a big sign outside saying, "Danger!" Really, what else could we do??

Whee, I gots a parachute! T'was fun... til I landed on top of a big angry Orga. Oops!

A HUGE tanks to all who volunteered, donated to and participated in the Newbielympics! It wasn't easy, but I hope it turned out fun. :) I enjoyed getting to know the crop of new exiles, you guys are awesome!

Cammie's Story ~ MAP rocks Greymyr Village!

For this week's MAP hunt we decided to explore Greymyr Village. We encountered trouble at first with several 'myrs pelting us with rocks, but hit our stride when we tried pounding one at a time while Inu ran the rest.

Surrounded and pounded by third circle fighters! We win! =)

Turned out he just wanted a hug. :(

Well by this time I was wonderin, is there an actual village with little Greymyr shops and houses and such? Or, as Downyfoot pointed out, a candy store? The answer, sadly, was no. Savages! And the answer to the origin of Greymyr Rock Candy was even more disturbing!

MAP: if the fighting doesn't kill you, the bad puns will!

Zin and I kept getting hit by the dreaded Double Fen Rock Takedown.

Now I know how the hubby feels... heh heh heh. Well this chief guy had a lot to say about "obelisks" and "exits" which was probably pretty deep for a big pile of rocks, but I had no idea what he was talkin about!

We left via a pf area of the passes I'd never seen before. This lovely pond was hidden away back there!

Puddleby Cribs, Part two: Better Closets and Gardens!

Instead of focusing on one home this month, I'll be spotlighting 3 beautiful gardens (and one amazing closet belonging to guess-which-Clan? :D)

First we have the lovely landscaping of fellow trophy-hunter Aldernon:

I never did learn what that pink thing was, but I wonder if he calls it "Pinky?"

Next up was the Mini Mansion. Chance showed us around the beautiful garden...

complete with frolicking bunnies and unicorns =) A magical place indeed!

I enjoy the serenity of the garden, while hubby goes for an impromptu swim. =) I think I have been inspired by all these landscapes to try my own hand, er, paw at gardening!

Cammie's Story ~ Rumble in the Jungle!

This week's Open Hunt took us to the lush landscape of Metzetli Island! My training with Atkus seems to be paying off, as I was able to tag Haremaus, etc. more easily than a mere couple weeks ago.

Madness? My favorite! :D

Some of us arrived better prepared than others! (and a big thank-you to Noivad for getting us the stuffed Haremau. :D)

And half the group is felled by... Mantises. They only look delicate, I swear!

Traveler's Advisory: Beware whatever lurks in the tall grass!

Part of the group split to go to a tougher area, and the rest of us stayed to take on the kittens, crickets, and frogs. Good times (and many trophies :D) were had! =)
